Troubles in Shangai Empty Troubles in Shangai

Dim 10 Aoû 2008 - 14:02
Spain synchro squad has been retained by local police in its hotel in Shangai and they have received the prohibition by Chinese Olympic Comite to train in a rented pool. They are now training in private pool of spanish consul. The first "chinese" tricks? We'll see (and we don't want to think more about it...)

It's really hard to get an opinion about this olympic games.
On one hand, it's amazing to see the organisation and the melting pot of all nationalities
And on the other one, it's not fear to forget the context of these olympic games.
I just hope that the values of sports won't be set by side!!

And Roger, I can understand you frustration about the training....

I'm really upset about the way they use the police whenever they have something which could "disturb" the big and brilliant Chinese team... Their gold medal quest makes them forget the values of sport. I haven't heard of a Chinese athlete being controlled about EPO or anything else yet... Makes me curious. I mean, I can't bear the way the authorities assess their power during the Olympics just to show their superiority: I don't want to accuse the athletes, rather the chinese politics about the Olympics.

Troubles in Shangai Empty Sport and other things...

Ven 22 Aoû 2008 - 0:28
It's not only synchro, anyway... Just look what happened in artistic gymnastics. The usual score for China team internationally this year has been between 14.0 an 15.0. They got the final with 17.2. Just look at Pekin thread to learn what happened with new Spain swimsuit or the stupid IOC prohibition of having the Spain flag at half in respect for people dead yesterday in aircrash in Madrid or spanish athlets show any black symbol for duel... Anyway, you know that's part of sport today (in "not-so-much professional" sports and other problems in professional ones). A true pity but real...
